Keeping Currencies Current

The Quokka Online Booking System has a variety of settings that provide your prospective guests with vital information. Marketing is about telling your prospects what they need to know to buy. After Canada, the next two largest users of the Quokka Online Booking System live in the US and the UK. It would therefore be helpful to display US dollars and Pounds Sterling.

During your Quokka Online Booking System set up, your support rep sets up your US dollars exchange rate. But, the system does not automatically allow for currency fluctuations because each business has different policies about what rate to show. In addition, each credit card company has their own buy/sell rate for each currency. It's up to you to choose what the rate should be.

Where your guests live should tell you what other currencies to show. For example, if you have a lot of folks from Europe, setting up the Euro as a currency would be a good idea.

The screen image below with annotations shows you how to update your currency settings.

One question we receive is, "how often should I update my rates?" You should look at your rates at least every month. If you notice on the news that there has been a big change in the US-Canadian dollar rate, that should prompt you to take a look.

Please contact your support rep if you have any questions.
