Q: How do I find my Place Page in Google?

A: For many businesses Google has already created a skeleton of a Place page. To find your Google Place Page, go to www.google.ca. Enter a search for your business name followed by your city and province.

Example: coast capri hotel kelowna bc

With the above search you will see the Coast Capri Hotel listed beside the page with a Place Page link. Click the link to see their Place Page.

If the first search does not display your accommodation, then try searches for your business or your address or phone number within maps.google.ca.

Example: 1171 Harvey Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 6E8 or 250 860-6060

If you are not able to find your Place Page with the above searches then you are free to create a new Place page in Google for your accommodation.

Q: What do I get for the $199? How will I know if the work made a difference?

A: The Quokka Boost service consists of the following:

  • Locate your Google Place Page
  • Authenticate that you are the rightful owner of the Google Place Page with Google
  • If no Place page exists, create a Google Place Page for your accommodation
  • Collect, organize & enter all the necessary information about your business to optimize your Place Page; address, phone numbers, website, email addresses, amenities, room configurations, policies, images, videos, etc.
  • Before and after Search Results - screen prints of searches for your accommodation before and after your Place page has been optimized
  • Recommend search engine optimization work that can improve the search results for your top 5 website pages

Q: What kind of reports will I see for the Reputation Management service?

A: The Reputation Management service encompasses two main services. The first one is to develop a strategy to encourage your customers to leave reviews of your business on the Internet. We will develop sources & processes with you to make it easy for your happy customers to post their testimonials on the Internet. The second half of the service is to monitor the Internet to see what guests are saying about your accommodation. If is very difficult to respond to a negative comment when you don't even know it exists. We will make sure you are always informed of what the mobile public are saying about your property. We will create monthly reports that display the reviews that have been entered. As well as notify you immediately if a negative review appears.

Q: How do you get rid of a bad review?

A: The best way to handle a bad review is to act promptly. It depends on where the review is left (on the Internet) if you can directly response to it. Bad reviews can also be opportunities to update processes or services that you provide. If the comment is legitimate, then the best response is to inform future guests that this issue is no longer a problem and it has been fixed. If the negative review is untrue and you can not response directly then work towards adding many positive reviews to counteract the negative opinion. The travelling public understands that you can not please everyone. If 90% of your reviews are favourable, your guests won't concentrate on the 10% that were not satisfied.

Q: What do I get for my $199 if I've already verified by listing?

A: Through our work with businesses to optimize their Google Place Pages we have found there is always room for improvement when it comes to search engine optimization. If you have already Claimed or Verified your Place Page with Google but are still interested in our service, we will provide a quick review to see if there is information still to be added to your Place Page that will help your Google Local Search results.
